“Being inspired by someone or being someone else’s inspiration must be one of the greatest gifts you can give and receive. ” – just me.

If it wasn’t for all of the Beauty Bloggers, YouTube Makeup Gurus, and the lovely Instagrammers of the cosmetic World, I really wouldn’t be here, writing for all [okay, some] of you today. All of these beautiful women that I follow through social media constantly showed me that if you’re passionate about something – put it out there, pursue it, go after it, grab it while you can; what ever it is! It doesn’t matter who the Hell you are because if I can do it than so can you!

Addressing the subtitle of this post – although inspiring all of you is something that I care very much about, I know that doing what I do makes me feel good and also makes me so very happy. That being said; to be able to use my passion and happiness to influence others in pursuing their dreams is the true icing on the cake. I want to be someone’s source of inspiration. I want to be someone’s reason for getting off their ass and saying “shaygeorgebeauty did it and so can I!!” (I’m so lame) All dramatics aside, I can honestly say I’d die happy. We all want to be here on Earth for a purpose, don’t we?
Why beauty? Why blog about it?
I started out like you..or at least some of you! I wasfirst inspired by my Mama. As a little girl, I’d look at her; thick lushes lashes and bright fuschia lips against her deep brown hair was mesmerizing. I remember always thinking “I can’t wait until I can be grown up so I can wear makeup.” My childhood obsession clearly continued through the years and it wasn’t until highschool where I scored my first “real” makeup gig.

I accepted a job as a Beauty Advisor in the Beauty Boutique at Shoppers Drug Mart in my hometown. I went into the interview with no experience other than what I had taught myself and seen in tutorials but my passion and charisma for the profession was clearly undeniable and I landed the job right there. I was later promoted to Line Captain for Lise Watier Cosmetics where I really started to blossom. Being an A format store, we carried high-end brands like Guerlain, Christian Dior, Lancome, Estee Lauder, etc. and I was sent to seminars to learn all about our products! In my 2.5 years with SDM, I fell deeper into love but unfortunately had to put my dreams aside while I attended college for a career I didn’ tend up pursuing. (Because that NEVER happens, right?) After college, things came to a stand still. I can’t really explain how or why, I just kind of hit a road block. I still did girlfriends’ makeup for fun and such but I wasn’t feeling inspired at all.

A few years later, I met and fell in love with my current boyfriend and moved to the GTA where I worked for The Body Shop. It was short-lived and nothing to bat an eyelash at but it was something. I’m now currently working for a high end fashion company; Olsen Europe and I do all of this, for you guys and for myself! I play with makeup every single day and have slowly been doing some work on the side.

The “writing” aspect of this whole thing has always, always, always been an interest of mine. Throughout my entire schooling career, I always won awards pertaining to Writing. My forte was just that and it was something I truly excelled in. I could go into detail but I fear this post quickly becoming a cover letter or a story about how awesome I am.

To wrap things up, I want to share the wealth! I need to let all of you wonderful people in on all of the wonderful things I have learned over the years. Through hours upon hours of beauty research to sad experiences and happy ones, from trial & errors to just plain out having zero motivation. We can relate to each other in some way, shape, or form. I have so much to share with you guys, I can hardly contain myself.

Please comment below, follow and love! Thanks so much for visiting and stay tuned for next week’s post. I will be trying to get into a schedule of posting every Wednesday. Share your thoughts.

Have a beautiful day 🙂
